New Year Weekend

For the last day that Cooper and Natalie had to spend together, we took them to The Pottery Place to pick something to paint. Natalie chose an ice cream bowl which goes well with her 2010 'resolution' to eat ice cream. Cooper picked a fish to go with his new fish, Dorothy or Swimmy or whatever it's name ends up being in the end. The only thing we didn't consider is that it takes a week to glaze and fire the item you paint, so we will either mail Natalie's dish to her or send it back with my mom when she visits in a couple weeks for my birthday. Cooper is very excited to pick up his fish, and has requested to bring it for his next "share" (show and tell) at preschool.

After the pottery painting, which they both LOVED, we took them to go bowling in Franklin, TN. It was not a unique idea, and the place was packed. Since we had a 3 and a 4 year old to bowl, we chose the less crowded, child friendly mini bowling lanes which were also a bonus because they don't require bowling shoes. The other great thing is that this particular bowling alley is smoke free. Family fun had by all!

"Mom, don't take my picture, can't you see I'm busy painting my fish?"

I know they had a fun time playing together last week, Cooper told me this morning how much he misses having Natalie at his house. It's back to preschool today for him (mark your calendars I actually had to wake him up this morning) and also back to our routine after the holiday break.

Tomorrow's big deal will be finding out the gender of the new baby (if s/he cooperates). I don't care if this one is a boy or a girl, although lately I think it's a boy. I should have news to share tomorrow afternoon!

I can't wait to see what you're having! When are you due again? I think our due dates are close, right? Mine's May 19th.

(I had myself convinced I was having a boy again so don't be surprised if you're out buying some PINK tomorrow!)

I'm thinking I need to rethink my new year's resolutions. To "eat ice cream" sounds way better than working it off!

I wonder just how many fish out there are named Dorothy? That's what I call my mom's gold fish.

I love the picture of Cooper painting his fish. I get those looks from Michael sometimes too.

I CANNOT wait to hear what the little bean is.
