This weekend had lots of fun activities for Cooper and for whatever reason he decided it was also time he was going to behave really, really well. Saturday morning he had a t-ball game. His team won, and he scored two runs! He was very excited about this. Then, he had a playdate for the rest of the day with his friend CJ from the neighborhood and t-ball team. They had a blast playing trains, cars, riding bikes, playing soccer, watching a movie and 'swimming' in the hot tub. With all that activity Cooper did not get a nap in, other than about 20 minutes in the car after his t-ball game on the way home. No pictures from the game (camera battery was dead), and it was too busy to get any in the afternoon. But, good behavior all around.
Sunday, he was up bright and early, like usual. Mid-morning we had to do a Target run for which he was very well behaved. We were picking up some last minute baby things like bottles that we did not have yet and Cooper was the best behaved I have ever seen him at Target. He did fine riding in the cart, wasn't whiny, didn't throw a fit that we didn't stop by toys for him to look, or for any other of the million reasons almost 4 year olds have a melt down at Target. (Who is this sitting in the cart? It can't be Cooper?) In the afternoon Cooper and Ben went with CJ and his dad to Nashville to see a 'real' baseball game, Vanderbilt vs. South Carolina. The boys had a fun outing, and from what I hear he was well behaved for this too. Again, no nap. And, again, no pictures.
While the boys were out, I got a prenatal massage and a mani/pedi. It was wonderful. I can't say enough how nice this break was!
Once the boys were back we went to dinner. Usually with Cooper we are somewhat limited in the places we can take him where he will eat anything. But, we decided to change it up and take him someplace new for him-- Bonefish Grill. We got there and Cooper was as well behaved as I have ever seen him. He also picked fish from the kids menu, ate what he ordered, enjoyed it, and ate some bread-- two pieces. This might not sound like much, but really, it's huge! He NEVER eats bread, let alone asks for it. And, the fish was not exactly like a fish stick- it was larger pieces of tilapia with a tempura style batter. For a picky eater, this was huge. Rather than jinx our good luck and actually say anything about it out loud, Ben and I just exchanged a few looks at how well this dinner was going.
After dinner we were back at home and Ben was working on the sprinkler system- almost time to start watering the lawn and plants again and it's been a while since the system has been in operation. Cooper was 'helping' by standing in the spray of the sprinkler system. He got soaked and loved it. That was the only time I got any pictures of him all weekend, but you can bet I won't forget how well behaved he was for pretty much the entire weekend. And, without a nap, he actually slept in this morning- I had to wake him up at 6:30! Here's hoping the good behavior and good sleep continue!
This was before he got totally soaked...

He ate what? Fish and bread? FISH? Is this your April Fool's post or something? And no tantrums in Target?
I'm very jealous.
I know, I almost didn't want to post about how smoothly the weekend went.
This is awesome news!
YAY for good eating! I know you must have been thrilled. Also, how nice for you to have some time to get pampered. Enjoy it before the baby gets here.
I have seen glimpses of the well behaved almost 4 year old here as well.
YAY! For a good weekend with all kinds of good behavior and just trying new things. awesome.
