Weather Watcher & Daddy's Boy

In Cooper's preschool class there is a 'magic basket' that the teachers choose names from to have specific jobs in the class that day such as door holder, prayer leader, calendar helper, and weather watcher. Cooper likes it when the magic basket chooses him for a job, and he really gets into some of them, like weather watcher. There's a song that goes with the weather watcher too ("Weather watcher, weather watcher, Tell us what the weather is, Tell us what the weather is, Won't you please, Won't you please" to the tune of Frere Jaques in case you want to know what song is stuck in my head at the moment). Well, the weather here this week has been wonderful. Nice and warm with sun everyday.

Cooper and Ben were talking about the sun on the way to preschool yesterday. First he told Ben that the sun was following them to school and they started talking about the sun. Cooper wanted to know after Ben told him that the sun was made up of lots of different gasses if it was held together by glue. Today I brought Cooper to preschool and we saw some pretty clouds, one of which had some rainbow colors in it from the sun and Cooper was concerned about making sure Ben saw it on his way to work too. Which brings me to my next point...

Lately I have noticed a small change in Cooper- he's becoming much more attached to Ben than he used to be. I think it's a nice change, and they have had lots of fun together lately. I don't know if it is because he is getting older and they are sharing similar interests like going to the baseball game last weekend, or the fact that I can't get out and run around as often or for as long as I used to be able to but he now really wants to make sure he gets in his playtime with Daddy. It's nice to see the two of them enhance their bond together even more than it was before. I hope this works to our advantage with the new baby arriving in less than 5 weeks (!).

Last night Cooper got a replacement tee for his t-ball set- he has already worn out the first one. After dinner he got in some practice time with his new equipment:

Sounds like becoming a Daddy's boy is happening at exactly the right time!

We encouraged the HECK out of that before AJC was born, and it was AWESOME. I don't think JTC ever cared that Mommy was busy with the baby as long as he got Daddy to himself!

I like this weather watcher and door holder. That is pretty cool.
And it is a nice break to have them attach to Dad for a bit. Enjoy your mommy time.

That's pretty much how it is here! Michael was giving me a hard time all afternoon but as soon as Todd came home and took him to the store, he listened and behaved.

I can't believe you only have 5 weeks left!!
