A Double Retraction

The first retraction being the schedule issue. Today was the day I wanted to get Cooper back on track, but unfortunately that did not happen. Bedtime was closer to 8, and Cooper was still singing in his crib at 9:30. ("Wheels on the Bus" if you want to know). Ben went in to check on him and ended up rocking him to sleep.  We'll work on the schedule tomorrow. We had more important developments tonight.

Remember how I said no ear infection? Scratch that and add a trip to the ER this evening for Cooper. After dinner his poor left ear starting oozing just like the ENT said it would in the event he gets an ear infection while his tubes are in. Cooper kept saying "What happened to my ear?" and it was so sad to hear him ask that. The ER docs would not prescribe the ear drops that tubes patients can get with an ear infection because they want us to verify with the ENT to make sure there is not a leak or puncture in the tube, but they did give an oral antibiotic.  We found out after Cooper had his dose of antibiotics at 8 tonight that it can cause hyperactivity, so I guess that answers why Cooper was awake so long tonight.  We'll be paying a visit to the ENT tomorrow for another checkup.  Hopefully Cooper can rest tonight with the antibiotic going to work on the infection.

The antibiotics made him hyper. That's just adding insult to injury in my opinion. I hope the EI improves quickly.
