We have been dealing with sleep issues over the last few weeks with Cooper. Last week during fall break he kept getting out of bed at naptime. Finally he fell asleep on the floor right by the door. I could not even open the door to get in so I could pick him up and put him into his bed, all I could do was reach my arm through the door and take this picture.
This week we instituted a new rule. Cooper has a clock in his room and now is not allowed to wake us up until it reads 6:00. After a few nights o f multiple 4:30, 5:00, 5:15 wakings and never getting back to sleep well after that it was needed. Cooper has a bathroom right across the hall from his room and knows that if he wakes up and has to go, he can do it without getting us up. Before, he would come in, tap on my arm and say "mommy, mommy, mommy, mommy" as many times as it took until I would get up and help him. With a new taller step stool he can reach the sink all by himself, and doesn't need me (although he still wants the attention). The first two days there were tears at 5 am because he had to go back up to his own room and bathroom to go potty, but ended up going back to sleep until 6:30. Today is the first day he has actually stuck to the schedule, but, hey, it only took 3 days! At the stroke of 6 I heard him walk down the stairs to our room. He did it! I hope he can keep it up because I'm not a fan of the 4:30 wake up call.

Sweet! I swear it is a never ending battle with sleep! Alex loves to get up early and we found him a few mornings in a row staring at us while we were sleeping at 5:30.

Wanted to tell you, the noise at the races doesn't bother Jadyn at all (the last two times she napped through it). The ear plugs bother her more than the noise but Jake HAS to have ear plugs in. I see a lot of kids straight up wearing earphones and ear muffs to muffle the noise without dealing with the ear plugs. They all love it!
