Mistake
I love a bargain. And, if you're a mom with a budget, who doesn't? I also love Marc Jacobs, which is no bargain. I loved shopping at his store in Boston, even if I could only afford the Jacobs by Marc Jacobs line. Still super cute stuff at a more affordable price. Score! Imagine my surprise when I was at Marshall's this week to see a rack of Marc Jacobs 2010 swimwear for $60. Hmm, I will need a new suit for the summer. With 12 weeks off and two pools in our neighborhood visiting the pool is high on my list of things to do this summer. This was a cute one shoulder tankini a little on the order of this one. I don't know why I thought this was a good idea, but I grabbed one to try on in a size that normally should be OK for me non-pregnant. I think the thought process went something like this-- I may be pregnant, but this fabric will stretch and I might just get the general idea if the suit will fit by trying on the bottoms plus who can pass up such a great deal on something I need at a great price? The bottoms fit fine, so I decided to go for the top. NOT a good idea. I got STUCK. Really, really stuck. So stuck I wasn't sure how to get out of it. I almost had to ask the attendant to help me get out of the top, but I finally managed to get it off of myself without further embarrassment such as falling out of the dressing room which almost happened. You would think I had learned my lesson when a few years ago when my mom insisted I try on a petite size dress for my sister and knowing I am not petite I agreed to do it anyway. I was so stuck in that she had to help me out of it, but apparently it runs in the family that we think trying on things knowing they are in the wrong size is a good idea. At least it was good for a laugh!

Oh gosh....it is a VERY cute suit!!
It's cute but I probably would have been giggling at myself in between swearing as I tried to take it off!
Glad that you were able to get out of the suit without assistance :) Love the suit, by the way!
LOL. That's totally something I would do.
I know how you feel. I tried a sports bra on that was too small last year and I nearly dislocated my shoulder trying to get the darned thing off!!
I have sooooooo done this same thing, and I wasn't even uber pregnant while doing it! I know exactly what you are talking about when you say you almost fell out of the dressing room! You gave me a GREAT laugh Steph! Thanks a bunch!
