Green Eggs and Ham
This week Cooper's preschool is celebrating Dr. Seuss and his books in memory of his birthday being this week. I am sure this is not limited to just his school since it's part of Read Across America week. I and two other moms from Cooper's class volunteered to help make green eggs and ham today for the children's morning snack time and then read "Green Eggs and Ham" to the class. We had so much fun! I knew Cooper would not eat the eggs (he would not eat them even if they were not green) and I didn't have any expectations that he would eat the ham (which was not green) either. He sat through snack time and drank his juice and did not touch his food. Finally, when most of the other kids were done he decided to try a bite of ham- and liked it. He ate the entire piece of ham. Amazing! Then, the other two moms and I split up reading the story. It's one Cooper knows well and he knows that we talk about trying new things even if it is just one bite when we read the story. After that we got to stick around while they played in different centers for a while. Cooper and a friend were busy making a dog house with Magna-tiles when it was time for me to go. I told him goodbye and asked if he wanted a hug. He said "Nope, I'm too busy Mommy!" which was actually better than the tears he had when both Ben and I had to leave after his Christmas music program in December. He's growing up so fast! No pictures, it was wild with 16 preschoolers, two teachers and three moms in class today.

I have yet to help out in Nathan's classroom but that sounds so fun :)
I haven't helped Maggie's class but I have helped my 6 yo's class a few times. It is fun and nice to see their face shine with pleasure when you are there participating in their class.
Fun fun fun! :)
Cooper ate HAM!?!?!? AWESOME! Way to go big guy! Branching out one step at a time :-)
