Weekend Adventure

I'm not sure if you can tell from all my recent snow pictures or not, but it's cold here! We have not been getting out as much as usual, so by Sunday we were looking to get out of the house for a while, yet didn't want to spend tons of money on tickets and parking to some of the places to go around the Boston area. The solution? Harvard Museum of Natural History, free to Massachusetts residents every Sunday. We even found parking on the street so that was free too. All in all it was a great trip into the city. Cooper had a blast and loved seeing all the animals on display in the Zoological Galleries. The animal displays were very interesting. You could tell some of those animals have been there a long time and they even have a replica of a Dodo bird on display with other (real) stuffed extinct animals. We were able to see everything in about 2 hours. I could not get Cooper to slow down to take his picture for pretty much that whole time. I finally ended up getting him to look at the camera in the Geological section (rocks = boring) but he was not all that happy about having his picture taken:

We had a fun, free outing, and Cooper is still talking about the animals he saw. Favorites are the elephant, giraffe, and he now thinks it's hilarious to say 'silly mongoose' instead of silly goose.

That's really great to know. Even though we live in VA both my husband and I are Mass residents. Next time we are up visiting his dad in RI we will have to take the kids there.
