What We've Been Up To Lately...

In the last couple of weeks we have seen summer give way to fall and have been having lots of fun adventures.

Cooper started soccer. I had signed him up for a league that (last year) started after t-ball, but this year they are running at the same time. I had never intended to have him in two extra curricular activities at one time during kindergarten, but so far he's managing it well and enjoying all of his sports. But, note to self, do a better job checking on the dates of sport seasons next time. We won't be doing two at once any more!

Fall = football! Of course we are rooting for Iowa State again this year. We have a surprising number of ISU alumni in our neighborhood and town in TN, so we had them all over for chili and to watch the Iowa/Iowa State game. It was an exciting game and the Cyclones won in triple over time! Cooper and Abby were both decked out in their Cyclone gear that day, as I'm sure they will be for all the other game days this season!

Last weekend, Grandma O, Kimi and Mesa came to visit! It was so fun to see them, and to meet baby Mesa for the first time! She is adorable and an all around great baby. Ben, Kimi, and I (and our good friends) did Warrior Dash that weekend too. It was held in Manchester, TN on the Bonnaroo grounds which worked out great for the race. This is definitely the most fun race I have ever done and would love to do more Warrior Dashes! The only down side was that there were so many people that day, even though we were in the same heat, I missed meeting up with Kara.

Sweet baby Mesa!

Last Sunday we took Grandma O, Kimi and Mesa along with Cooper and Abby out to Arrington Vineyards- one of our favorite places here! We had a fun picnic with great weather and got to see the hot air balloon launch. Grandma O and Kimi got to participate in a wine tasting. Cooper kept saying "This is the best day ever!" when we were on the way home. It was sweet that a family picnic was so much fun for him! Thanks Grandma O, Kimi, and Mesa for coming to see us!
