The Usual Catch Up

As usual I am behind in getting things updated on the blog these days. After the kids were sick, no surprise, I got a sinus infection too. Fun times. That makes 3 since last August and when you throw in viral laryngitis and the flu in between sinus infections that is a lot of sick in seven months for me. Anyway, with the latest sinus infection I went in to see the doctor the day before we were supposed to fly to San Antonio to get started on antibiotics. A little late, but they kicked in enough and the flight went fine with no complications from the sinus issues I had at the time. Me being sick wasn't the point of this post though.

We went to visit my family for spring break! Since their spring break in San Antonio was the week before the spring break here we decided to make the most of Cooper's last year of being able to take time off from school without getting into trouble and go for part of their spring break and part of ours. I was worried that Abby was going to be clingy, but my trip with the kids to visit everyone last October must have helped because she went right to Papa and also developed a strong bond with Aunt Karen. In fact, if Aunt Karen was around she didn't want to be with anyone else! We had a chance to spend lots of time with family which we don't often get to do and also did fun things in and around San Antonio. We went to the zoo, celebrated my dad's birthday at the Salt Lick, my mom and I hosted a baby shower for my sister, Ben and I went downtown on our own one evening (thanks for babysitting Mom and Dad!), ate way too much, a sleepover for Cooper at Natalie's house, a sleepover for Cooper and Natalie at grandma's house, a trip for Cooper and Natalie to Natural Bridge Caverns, and some fun shopping in the markets in downtown San Antonio. We kept busy and I guess that's why it's taken me from last Wednesday until now to start to feel back to normal again! I am trying to get myself organized and back on track with a lot of things... preschool starts up again tomorrow, so we will get back in our normal routine.
