Catching Up

Last week was a little hectic. Cooper had VBS from 9-12 and was a basket case when I dropped him off the first day. He knew tons of friends there and some of the adults, but still clung to my leg when I tried to leave. Thankfully he hitched a ride with our neighbors and friends who were attending VBS too so that we could avoid the whole drop off scene. He enjoyed VBS and the freak outs were just for show.... I left my phone number with his teacher after that first drop off and asked her to call if he was still having issues after I left, and she said he calmed down as soon as I was gone. His teacher is also a teacher during the school year at his preschool, and I would love it if he ended up in her class this August. Not surprisingly, his behavior for the week wasn't much better than his VBS issues, and he got too many no's and did not earn the potential reward from his behavior chart last weekend. It's been a hard lesson for him to learn, but much needed! His new food this week is a cheeseburger (he specified he wanted the cheese on it), so we will see how he does with that.

As for me, I had my 6 week appointment with my doctor last Thursday. Things are good although there's a minor issue with the way a couple of stitches are healing, but it's very minor and should be fine soon. My doctor wanted to go over birth control options, but I am opting to do nothing that will affect my hormone levels until after I see my doctor in Boston at the end of August. At that time I will have a follow up MRI and meet with my doctor on the tumor situation. I don't want to modify how my body is regulating my hormones until I know the results from all that testing. I added on to Ben's gym membership over the weekend and started the Couch to 5K program yesterday. That was my first time running since the half marathon last November and it went better than I expected. There is a 10K in September I am considering, but I don't know if it's more than I can handle in two months time or not.

Abby is doing well and growing fast! I was excited to have finally gotten a picture of her smiling this morning, check it out in the prior post! She has such long feet that sleepers in the size that fits her are really too short on her feet and they are so narrow I am not sure if I will ever find shoes to fit her. She continues to be pretty relaxed, although has started to do a lot of car crying... it seems like every time we were in the car last week she would cry. Cooper hated being in his car seat at this age too and it really did not improve much until he changed car seats. I hope that is not the case for Abby because it will be a while before she's ready for that next step.

I am glad that all in all everything is okay. It is nice sometimes just to know how people are doing.

Glad to hear that you are getting back to "normal". I hope that the car seat crying stops sooner rather than later.
