Weekend Wrap Up

I think Cooper has had a fabulous weekend. First, on Friday took him to Red Robin (his new favorite AND a place where he will order something other than chicken nuggets) and he was polite as could be. I don't know why he was on his best behavior, but we were happy about it and our waiter was too, he brought over a balloon for Cooper in his favorite color (green). Usually we avoid the balloon there and have told Cooper that they only hand them out for birthdays so he was extra excited to get one there.

Saturday he had a birthday party to attend at the Discovery Center. He had a blast despite initial reservations about being there-- We woke him up from his nap and he was not ready to be awake, but it was time to go. He was at first clingy, but after some cake he warmed up and had fun watching the birthday boy open his gifts.

After cake and gifts we all went to the Wetlands room for the animal display. There had been a visit from Clifford shortly before we showed up for the party, so the whole time Cooper was guessing that Clifford was the next animal to come out, but he never did since his visit was done. We got to see and touch lots of cool animals:

A tortoise

Two white ferrets

An albino hedgehog named Toothpick

A chinchilla named Papa

After the hands on animal show, it was play time! Cooper was most interested in the simple machine display, I think he's likely to take after Ben and Papa D when it comes to engineering.

And, on the way home he was excited to see what came in the party goody bag, and was thrilled with the Cars stickers. He went right to work putting them to use...

Today after church Cooper was putting together a puzzle with Ben and I got a picture of the two of them wearing their 'puzzle hats'. I don't know why, but Cooper insists on wearing the puzzle box on his head when he puts one together.

We're starting to get more snow, so I think we're home bound the rest of the day!

Michael loves puzzles and Cars too! He is currently working on a James puzzle.

And you are right about Columbia being one of the hottest places. It's because of where it's located in the state. I didn't think we would get any snow either!!

A fussy eater and a budding engineer? We have a lot to talk about...
