Week Roundup

It's been a while since I've updated here. We're getting ready for the big move to TN with lots of paperwork and logistics. Not always so much fun, but I think in the end it will make everything smoother for the transition to have all our plans in place as they are.

Last week I spent the beginning of the week in Charlotte for work, then on Wednesday had an appointment in Boston for an MRI and follow up with my doctor. Trying to cram a weeks worth of work including some extra projects into two days was rough, so things like blogging took a backseat. Good news is that my prolactinoma is status quo. No change in size at this time, and the blood work is showing my prolactin levels are still being regulated just fine. I'll go back in six months, and rather than find a new doctor in TN I will just come up here to Boston for the appointment. I am happy with my current doctor and don't want to switch mid-way through my course of treatment. Hopefully I can spin it into a weekend family trip to Boston when it comes up.

I am trying to keep up with the 1/2 marathon training, but lately have only gotten 1-2 runs in a week. I need some new motivation, so new tunes have been downloaded from iTunes, and I'm thinking about the Nike+ after reading Laura's reviews here, here, and a review she recommended here. The new tunes and the thought of getting the Nike+ will help keep me going!

Cooper is enjoying his last two weeks here and of the nice but hot summer weather. Lots of time in his swimsuit in the small portable pool in the backyard, and water play at daycare. He and I had fun at the Frog Pond playground Sunday morning at the playground and the duck pond. Yesterday Cooper told me they had a water park called "Water Country" on the playground at his daycare... the teacher had the hose on the slide so the kids could pretend it was a water slide and he loved it. He has a great imagination and lately loves to play 'teacher' and 'superhero' with us. He's also developing into a bit of a Skype ham whenever he's talking with Grandma and Papa O and Grandma and Papa D. He shows off his toys, his dance moves, and general mayhem whenever we skype with them.

We're down to the wire here. Packing starts next Thursday, the truck will be loaded Friday and that is also our last day here in Mass before the LONG drive to Tennessee starts Saturday. Yikes. Even with all the prep work we've done, I'm nowhere near ready for the move!

Edit: I have to mention the Furminator for just a minute. Bailey has been shedding like crazy these last few weeks, and we finally got an upgraded her shedding blade and got a Furminator medium deShedding tool. For a shedding dog, there's nothing better. It pulls up the undercoat really well and keeps the shedding in the days after use down to a minimum. We got ours at the local pet shop downtown, and you can find where to get one from their website. If you use this, be prepared for all the hair, it's really not far from the photo on the website of how much hair you will get the first time it's used. The first time we used it, you would have thought we had a mid-summer snow storm in our backyard.

Love hearing the update. So much good news in this one! Let me know if you get a nike+, you can hook up with other people on their website to do challenges.

Wow, you have been busy. I hope the move goes well and that the trip is not too long.
