Cooper got to stay up to watch fireworks. He was super excited, then we he heard the noise, said he never wanted to see fireworks ever again and kept his hands over his ears the whole time. He also announced to us that when grows up he wants to be one of those people who sell glow in the dark necklaces and other glow products.
Fireworks did not start until 9:15, and it was a full 35-40 minute show. Cooper was not in bed until just after 10. Up at his usual time on Sunday morning. A reality check that he's not ready for late nights like that yet.
We delayed going to the parade until after every fire truck on the North Shore had gone by. Hopefully no one ever has an actual fire emergency on parade day because it always looks like every single truck on the eastern side of the state is going down High Street for the parade. Lesson learned after last year when both Cooper and Bailey freaked out with the noise of a 100 fire trucks going by with full sirens blaring.
We made it through the whole parade without having to leave due to rain. Cooper was excited to see his friends go by on a float from his school! No, he did not ride with them, we opted to watch the parade.
Two pictures from the parade:
