Is This A Sign?

We have had warmer weather here since the weekend. By warmer, I mean highs in the upper 40's, so it's not exactly balmy, but still a much needed break from the freezing temperatures we have had. Just yesterday Bailey started losing her undercoat. I brushed and brushed her last night and got out enough hair for about 5 additional dogs, yet she is still shedding like crazy. I dread the seasonal shed because of all the hair everywhere, but then, does this mean that warm weather is not far off??? I hope so, although it's only Feburary!

I've always wondered just where all that hair comes from. You brush off so much hair that you think the dog should just disappear, then you turn around and you need to do it again.

I hate to tell you this LOL...dogs' shed cycle has to do with the amount of daylight more than the temperature. As the days get longer their brain sends out the hormone to start shedding, even if it's freezing outside. It's why dogs in Vegas will grow huge winter coats even though it's still warm outside. But you can hope, can't you? :P
