Random Tidbits

  • We are getting a huge snowstorm today.... I am glad we are all home safe and sound and have nowhere to be other than home right now. I went to the grocery store this morning to make sure we're all stocked up for the weekend.

  • Ben picked a 7 year old boy to get Christmas gifts for at work as part of an angel tree type program. I had lots of fun picking out clothes and Ben had fun picking out Star Wars toys for him this week. Cooper danced in the aisles at the store to some iDog toys while we were there, it was hilarious. Ben dropped off the fully loaded gift bag at work this morning and the deliveries are going on soon. I wish I had a way to find out if he liked what we chose for him.

  • I had an eye exam this morning and the initial results are that there has been no change to my vision. I have to go back in a few weeks for a field of vision (peripheral vision) check and to have my eyes dilated.

  • On my way to the optomotrist's office today I was walking downtown past the Richdale store (which is like a convenience store, but it also has a Dunkin Donuts inside, and they sell hot dogs for 25 cents, and lots of tourist-y t-shirts, it's random) and there was a Salvation Army bell ringer out front. The weird thing was he was taking on his cell phone, and holding his glove that had the bell in it in his other hand ringing away. I don't know why I found that so odd, but it just was. I guess because the bell sound is loud enough that if it were me I would not be able to hear the conversation, and it just seems in appropriate to be on a personal call while doing charity work.

  • Maybe I thought that was odd because I have not been sleeping well this week. I have had a hard time getting to sleep because I keep thinking about The Tumor. Also, Cooper has not been sleeping well and has been waking up multiple times each night this week. Ben has gotten up with him a couple of nights in a row, so last night was definitely my turn to handle the night time wakings. Last night he woke up a few times. On the second time (around 3 am) I went in, took him to the bathroom, then he said he wanted a snack. Back in his room he was sitting in the rocking chair with me and drinking some milk and all of a sudden he threw up all over him, me, the rug, etc. He has no temperature, has been eating (minimally, but still eating), and seems to be in good spirits, so I have no idea why that happened. Then, today, when he woke up from his nap he had had an accident and was soaked. Needless to say in the cleanup process I also got covered. Ugh. I do not enjoy getting covered in vomit and pee, let alone each of them in a 24 hour time period. Of course, I'm sure Cooper doesn't like it either.

  • One of the other times I got up with Cooper this week at night he told me he was scared of his pajamas. I took him to the bathroom, put him into a clean and dry pull up and changed his pj's. I was too tired to find out why he was scared of them. He's worn the same pair many times before (Carter's fleece footie jammies with trucks on them) and he wore the exact same style (Carter's fleece footie jammies with sports theme) after that.

I had to do Salvation Army bell ringing in high school once as part of Key Club. They sign you up for 8 hour shifts. At some point, I got immune to the bell ringing because you hear it for so long. I have never done it since then and will never do it again!
