Boston

I have a yearly visit to Boston each year that is generally pretty routine... I go to do my annual MRI and follow up with my doctor about the pituitary tumor (you can read all about the prolactinoma by clicking on the link to my doctor's department information page). I really like my doctor and don't want to change yet, and since my insurance is not requiring me to, I have kept seeing him each year. The good news from my visit this year is that the tumor has dropped back down in size from last year... last year it was larger due to being off the medicine to have Abby. It's basically back to it's original size so pretty routine visit and results-- another year of the daily medicine and another MRI next year. I also got to have dinner Thursday with a friend from high school that lives out in Boston and it was so fun to catch up with her and hear about her two little girls.

This year was special because I got to meet up with some friends that I have known a while, but never met in person. The fabulous group included Joanna, Maria, and Laura and we all met over the weekend and had the best time! Friday I even got to meet Liz, who was also wonderful. We were planning to Warrior Dash on Saturday, but the weather was TERRIBLE so we decided to be Warriors in the city instead. We had some delicious meals, saw the city, and most importantly talked and talked! It was so great to meet these amazing women in person and be able to have a relaxing weekend all together! Life gets very hectic trying to keep up with a 5 and a 1 year old, so it was really nice to have time to sit and have real conversations. I had to head back early on Sunday to be back in time to teach the 3 year olds at VBS this year, so I got back to Nashville around noon and hit the ground running. I haven't stopped until now to sit and really think about what an amazing time I had this weekend! Can't wait to meet up with these ladies again sometime!

And, the weekend away would not have been possible without the amazingness of Ben, who not only handled both kids with ease, but also took them to dinner at a restaurant by himself, cleaned the house, tried to wean Abby from her nap and bedtime bottles (unsuccessfully, but at least he tried, which I have not attempted to do yet), and just generally took care of business. Thank you, thank you!
