The Insult (depending on how you look at it): So, last week as I was giving Abby a bath Cooper was in the bathroom to help. Well, his idea of helping is really just to play with the bath toys outside of the tub, but anyway, there he was. That day I had been wearing a cardigan and had a tank top on underneath. For Abby's bath I took off the cardigan and just had on the tank top with my jeans. Cooper said to me "Mommy, your tummy is almost not fat anymore!" Umm, what?!? He was really excited and I think he thought he was giving me a compliment. Months ago I had tried to explained to him after he had been asking questions that it takes a while for any mommy's tummy to grow bigger when they are going to have a baby, and just as it takes a while to get bigger it also takes a while for it to go back to its normal size. Apparently he remembered this conversation and wanted to show me that he had been paying attention? I have at times been laughing at this and also trying to not let it get me down. I am at my pre-pregnancy weight and have been for a while, but even though the weight is off it's not exactly all back in place where it should be. Maybe I can use this for motivation at the gym?
The Injury: Last Saturday Cooper attended a birthday party for a friend at BounceU. He is familiar with this place since he had his birthday party there last year and went to their 1/2 day camp a couple of weeks in the summer and attends the random snow day/preschool playdate event. Recently they rearranged the bounce stadiums. At the party Cooper was bouncing in one of the larger stadiums and flung himself into the net wall. Usually when he does this he just bounces back into the stadium and keeps going. Well, this time the actual wall was a little too close to the bounce stadium wall. There was a loud thump and then lots of crying. Cooper tends to be a little over-dramatic when it comes to injuries (and pretty much anything else), so at first I didn't think it was that bad. I was holding Abby and Ben went to check out Cooper's forehead. I went over after that to see what was going on, and when he took his hand away from his forehead he had a big knot forming above his eyebrow and the impression of the netting from the bounce stadium imprinted on his head! Poor guy had a much harder hit than I had initially thought. Thankfully, one of the BounceU employees is also his favorite babysitter so she took care of getting him an ice pack, juice box and ice cream right away. He started to feel better after all that. We filled out an incident report and they moved the bounce stadium away from the wall so hopefully this doesn't happen to another child. The mark is still there 4 days later and is just now starting to turn into normal bruise colors. He has gotten lots of questions about it and a few people have thought he fell on a Lego. He calls it his 'scar' and won't let anyone touch it! It's also drama whenever he has to get dressed to make sure nothing touches his 'scar'. The only picture I have of him with his 'scar' is below...

I agree that it is good motivation at the gym...my problem is the getting to the gym part these days!!! Man. Glad to hear Cooper's "Scar" is healing well. We will see you tonight for dinner. I hope you like angel food cake!!
