Snow Day

Another snow day today with no school. I won't even bother to take a picture of the snow....you can still see blades of grass through it. It's amazing how fast schools are out at the mere mention of snow, but I guess better safe than sorry. It's so much easier to have snow days when I am not scrambling to figure out how I am going to work and take care of the kids at the same time. Being a stay at home mom does have its perks at times, and I had been looking forward to a lazy morning since we did not have preschool drop off. Today wasn't one of those lazy sleep-in kinds of mornings though, both kids were up earlier than usual. Naps will be in order for hopefully everyone this afternoon!

A couple of pictures of the kids from this morning.... we converted what used to be my office into a toy room for the kids and it has been a big hit. I guess it's fitting that the room I used to spend all my time in is now the room I spend all my time in again.

Yes, you are seeing this right. Abby is standing. She has learned to pull herself up and was able to get back down again this morning on her own. The other day I went into her room when she was supposed to be napping and she was standing up in her crib holding onto the railing. Definitely time to lower the mattress again. She is very different from Cooper as a baby in that she is into EVERYTHING. We never had to get cabinet locks or anything more than outlet covers that for the most part went ignored to babyproof when Cooper was an infant, but this time around we are going to need every kind of baby proofing item that is made. She is not officially crawling with her tummy off the ground, but has been army scooting for quite a while and has gotten really fast at it. She also loves to open and close doors, drawers, and play with the dog food dishes if she can get the chance. She also is in love with any age-inappropriate toy she can find. Now that Cooper is into Star Wars and is accumulating quite a collection of action figures, those are a go-to toy for her. That has led to some of their first 'fights', which I am sure will only continue as they get older. Abby is still as sweet as ever and smiles and waves at almost everyone she sees. She does have a much bigger case of separation anxiety than Cooper did, but I assume part of that is due to the fact that she is with me all the time and doesn't go to daycare like Cooper did.

Here's Cooper "at work" this morning working on his computer in his pajamas... can't believe he will be in kindergarten next year!!! He will be playing t-ball again this spring and is really looking forward to the season starting again!

Oh, so jealous of the playroom. What a great idea to switch it out when you didn't need it anymore.

Arg, and the snow. We got about three inches, but it ended early enough that school opened on time. Phew.

I meant to say this last week, but Abby sounds JUST like Sophia. Elijah wasn't nearly as much trouble. Sophia isn't even mobile yet and she's into everything!
